This is a question often asked; what is the difference between THC and CBD? Hopefully you read our blog regarding Cannabinoids and Endocannabinoid systems in the body. To paraphrase, there are over 100 different cannabinoids that have been found in the Hemp plant. THC is one of many, as is CBD. There we have 2 different cannabinoids out of over one hundred.
Why only THC and CBD so far?
THC is one of the predominate cannabinoids found inside Marijuana plants. THC is a Psychoactive Cannabinoid, which is why you feel "High" ingesting Marijuana. THC in Marijuana has been drastically modified over the years, with growers focusing on high THC count strains. With THC being so popular, it has been more openly researched and talked about.
Recently, people have been discovering the medicinal benefits of CBD. With that, we have been seeing more studies being done and finding more widely available information regarding CBD. With research taking place all over the world, we are excited to see the long list of benefits of CBD. CBD is NON-Psychoactive, which means you won't get high. It has also been found to possess an-xiolytic and antipsychotic properties. Although THC does also have medicinal benefits, CBD is more widely accepted as a dietary supplement at this time.
CBD has been approved by the Global Sports Commission. The World Anti-Doping Agency now allows athletes to openly use CBD.
